Gerard (Jerry) Correa has been practicing law for over four decades, and is especially experienced in the area of estate tax planning and payment for large estates. He concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of estate planning, tax planning, tax controversies, administration of estates and trusts, preparation of tax returns, and planning for the distribution of IRAs and other qualified retirement plans.
Jerry headed the firm for many years before turning leadership over to his son John, who, like Jerry, has a Master of Laws in Tax. Although Jerry no longer manages the firm, he remains busy with practice. Because only a handful of attorneys in the country have his level of experience with estate tax, Jerry’s counsel is sought after by both clients and colleagues. He has been working with many of the firm’s clients for decades; they know that they can rely on Jerry’s knowledge of Florida and federal law and his strategic planning for complex matters, especially those involving tax issues.
A longtime resident of the St. Petersburg area, Jerry has been actively involved in representing several private charitable organizations in the community. In addition to his legal practice, Jerry also serves as trustee of multiple trusts.
When not practicing law, Jerry remains active outside of the office, traveling, mountain biking, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
